To be continued....

Forgive me father, it has been two years since my last post.  Much has changed, much has stayed the same, and I feel a great change is imminent (my wife's fortune cookie this week agrees with me).

I have opened a restaurant on South Street, had a son (Charlie, 8 mos.), and have moved twice.  The One Legged Chef took a hiatus, but something inside me stirs.  It is as if something has re-sparked, and it is a good feeling.  It's as if something new is evolving, but I already know what it is.  Born again?  Not really.  Wouldn't that imply that something has died?  Nothing has died.  There is only new life, and this is what I want to give to The One Legged Chef.  A new life.

I will leave this post short, with a promise to return quickly.  I also will begin more posts on my facebook page, which I encourage all of you to check out.

  1. Hello Charles! I just found you through a link on the ACA facebook page. You ought to check out that post. It's a guy who lost his leg recently and wondered if he can still follow his dream and become a chef. I think you could relate.
    I'm a LBK, for over 9 years now and the mom to four great kids, married to an archaeologist for almost 23 years. Great life, two 'real' legs or not.
    I did a friend request on facebook but you wont recognize my name so this is who I am. Facebook charges you to send messages to people you are not friends with, so I'm catching you here.
    I'm fascinated by the whole chef thing, after reading many interesting memoirs in recent years. I hate to cook and the rhythm of a professorial kitchen fascinates me. I plan to dig around on your blog tonight, when things slow down at work.

  2. One last comment...have you seen the show called "Whites" on Hulu? It's a six week episode show about chefs in a professional kitchen in England. Very fascinating, great characters. I think you might find it interesting. I'm looking forward to the next season.
